I got the room for my son and daughter in law and the 5-year-old mainly because of the pool for the 5-year-old. I thought the price was on the high side. The pool was nice but after being in the pool a while with the 5-year-old, another family with 2 boys around 9 to 12 and a teenage daughter came in the pool and the boys were running and jumping in the pool. They acted like they had the complete pool and one of them almost kicked the 5-year-old in the face. The 5-year-old needs the wear floaties and needs assistance so i stayed with her and had to often had to protect her from the routy boys. The parents of the boys didn't care how the boys behaved and when got out of the pool, the boys dad got in the pool and would throw the boys across the pool like a beachball. My son was disappointed that the hot tub is gone. I didn't spend the night there but i took the 5-year-old swimming and the kids told me that the room was fine and clean and said they had no complaints about the room and liked the breakfast.

The front desk clerk was very congeal. But the hall ways were very dark only every other light was on. Hard to get your key in the slot. I'm thinking they did that so you wouldn't see how dirty the place was.

When I booked the room, it said I would have a balcony and it did not. If there was one, I didnt see it. It also said there was no air conditioning. I called the hotel and they said it did have air and it did upon arrival.

Archie's is the MAIN reason we come to town - ha! Greatest steak house in the nation, and owned by a terrific family (and our friends). Of course, Wells Blue Bunny ice cream is a hot spot! Love the train, all the big old trees, beautiful older homes plus some new areas, ease of getting around, good grocery stores. Easy to find; easy to navigate even though the main road was under construction. Would highly recommend Iowa BBQ and The Blue Bunny. Restaurants were within walking distance and Walmart right next door.MargrietCanada

I've also never seen ceilings so tall in a room. Everything was comfortable - Shower and bath, the AC kept up with it being super hot outside, and furniture. It had everything we needed plus some. It is more of a rental instead of hotel room with a fully stocked kitchen. The host was friendly and quick to respond when I had a question before check-in. Room was reasonably clean, but had a smoky odor. Bed was comfortable. I did not have breakfast there so cannot attach a rating for it. Check-in staff was very friendly and efficient.
